At the age of 45, I began on my personal journey through perimenopause, a transition that profoundly impacted me. Like many women, I faced a range of physical and emotional changes that were confusing and, at times, overwhelming. The most frustrating part was the lack of clear guidance or support from the medical community. My healthcare providers had little time to explain what was happening, and I often felt dismissed when seeking advice.

 

As a highly experienced Registered Nurse with 19 years in diverse clinical acute fields, I have the medical knowledge to understand my body. Yet, I felt unprepared for the realities of perimenopause and the shift in my health. I knew the importance of access to accurate information, compassionate care, and the opportunity to ask the right questions. Unfortunately, these essentials were missing when it came to menopause.

This lack of support ignited my passion to make a difference. I wanted to create a space where women could receive not just expert medical advice but also emotional and mental support during this transitional time.

My background in acute nursing has given me a deep understanding of how the body functions during times of stress and change which is essential when approaching menopause. But beyond that, I’ve come to realise how crucial it is to approach menopause with empathy and understanding. It’s not just about symptom management, it’s about recognising the whole person and how their health and well-being are intertwined with their life experiences.

As I deepened my focus on women’s health, I specialised in menopause management and aesthetics, understanding that many women not only seek relief from symptoms but also desire to feel rejuvenated, confident, and beautiful during this phase of life.
